Punchard Gill Mines, Whaw, Arkengarthdale, North Pennines, North Yorkshire, England, UK

Series of levels and shafts in Punchard Gill on the south-western side of Arkengarthdale, somewhat outlying the main mining area.
The veins worked were Cocker, Shakes, Routh, Punchard Gill, Fox Holes and Wharton's String.
Grid reference given is for the portal of Punchard Level. Other workings include Cocker Low and High Shafts on the western slope of the valley, hushes on the Wharton String north of these, and the Routh Level at NY96110442.
Not to be confused with Punchard Coal Level at the far western end of Great Punchard Gill.
