An U occurrence and surface and underground mine with underground workings located in sec. 32, T5N, R14E, about 2¾ miles SSW of Asbestos Point (Asbestos Peak), and about 1 mile E of the Red Bluff Mine, on National Forest land.
Mineralization is a vein deposit with a tabular ore body hosted in the Dripping Springs Quartzite. The ore zone is 24.38 meters long, 0.91 meters wide, 1.52 meters thick, strikes N15E and dips vertically. An associated rock unit is diabase.
A strongly radioactive mineralogic separate of graphite from near the face of the adit suggests that at least a part of the uranium may be associated with graphite and carbon.
Workings include an adit and some benching and total 13.72 meters in length and 21.34 meters in depth. No production record.
