An iron deposit located in the NW¼ sec. 15, T.8N., R.15½E., on the north side of Rock Creek and on the SW side of Bear Creek, about half way up the steep canyon walls.
Mineralization is a sedimentary ferruginous Mescal Limestone. The deposit is relatively thin, seldom more than a few feet in thickness, and crops out as discontinuous bands of low-grade material that can be traced for about 3,000 feet. The hematite ore is in irregular masses. The host rock is Chuska sandstone.
