The Cobalt Area was the most prolific silver producer of the Region. Petruk (1971) divides the area into three geological subareas- Peterson Lake basin, Kerr Lake Dome, New Lake Basin. Most activity was in the Peterson Lake Basin and Petruk further divides this geographically into Northwest of Cobalt Lake, West side of Peterson Lake Basin, East side of Peterson Lake Basin, near Peterson Lake.
