Sugashima, Toba City, Mie Prefecture, Kinki region, Honshu Island, Japan

The largest quarry in Japan, on an island located about 3 km from the harbor of Toba city. The rodingite veins are found in gabbroic rocks. A very small-scale nickel-copper ore deposit was discovered in the mid-1980s.
