The only mine on the west side of Wharfedale to achieve even a modest degree of development, with total production of lead concentrates being in the order of 1000 tons during the second half of the 19th century.
The mine worked Charlton's, Wiseman's and Sunter's veins from a series of shallow shafts and two levels (20 and 30 Fathom levels). Grid reference supplied is for the portal of a later adit on Charlton's Vein. Moorend Shaft was at SD95057276.
