Eersteling goldfield, Pietersburg greenstone belt, Limpopo Province, South Africa
A site of historic interest as it was the site of the first gold deposit discovered in the Transvaal in 1871.Three main ore zones have been identified as the Girlie Reef in the north, named after the mine located on this zone. Pienaar's Reef is to the south of the Girlie Reef. The Doreen Reef strikes west, it's probable that the Maltz's mine is located in this zone.
