In this area ophiolitic masses (basalts, serpentinites, hydrothermalites) outcrop on both sides of the road leading to Tuscany through the Radici Pass. On the right side of the road there is a quarry that is occasionally exploited. In this quarry are present five lithologically and mineralogically different areas.
