Silver Coin Mine (Quinn Mine; Silver Coin Extension Mine; Aravaipa Leasing Co. property; Verdun Mining Co. property), Klondyke, Santa Teresa Mts, Aravaipa District, Graham Co., Arizona, USA

Latitude: 32°50'14"N
Longitude: 110°16'41"W
A small former underground Pb-Cu-Mo-Ag-V-Au mine located in the NW¼SW¼ sec. 11, T7S, R20E, 3.1 miles east of Klondyke, on BLM-administered land. Small production reported in 1947. Operated by the Verdun Mining Co. of Arizona (1942).

Mineralization is a tabular ore body hosted in the Buford Canyon Volcanics, andesite or basalt flows and flow breccia; rhyolite dikes; Pinal Schist. The ore zone is 213.36 meters long, strikes N30W, and dips steeply E. An associated rock unit is diabase. Ore control was a fault between a biotite quartz latite plug and Buford Canyon Volcanics. Ore concentration was fissure filling. Alteration was thorough silicification. Along the adit level, most of the vein is low grade or barren except for streaks a few inches wide containing galena.

Area structures include block faulting trending NNW. Regional trends: minor Pre-Cretaceous E- and NE. A fault striking N70E may be a SW extension of Quartz Hill Fault.

Workings include a 105 foot deep shaft, an adit connecting with a level 40 feet below the shaft, a 180 foot tunnel with crosscuts and a 50 foot deep winze, a 200 foot (60.96 meters) deep shaft connects with the winze. Small lots of ore had been shipped up to 1925. An unknown tonnage was produced in 1947.
