Les Cuves vein, Courgoul, Issoire, Puy-de-Dôme, Auvergne, France

Located West of Saurier, on left bank of La Couze Pavin river, along the path leading uphill.

"Fishbone"-like veins-system : main vein NS with numerous smaller veins EW.
Muscovite leucogranite veins associated (proximity of Saurier granite).
Vein filling : silicified and argillized mylonite with galena and sphalerite with cockade structure.
One important quartz-galena crossing vein.

Up to 3 kilograms Ag/ton.

Important active thermal spring activity (calcareous and ferrugineous deposits) in NS faults system.

Host rocks : cordierite anatexites, near tardimigmatic intrusive granite (East of the zone).
