Smyrna claim, Sheep Tanks District, Little Horn Mts, Yuma Co., Arizona, USA

A gold property located about 2,500 feet South of the Sheep Tanks Camp.

Mineralization is a gold-bearing vein that occupies a brecciated zone in diorite porphyry. It strikes NE-ward, dips from 30º to 40º SE, and has a maximum exposed thickness of 4 feet. The hanging wall of this vein is marked by a thin streak of coarse-grained gouge. Vein material consists largely of brecciated porphyry, intermingled with limonite, pyrolusite, and angular to slightly rounded fragments, up to several inches diameter of fine-grained, greenish-yellow and white quartz, cemented by calcite, manganocalcite and limonite.

Workings include a few shallow pits.
