Lolon Main Mine; Challacollo deposit
Located 30 km east of Oficina Victoria, the nearest large city being Iquique.
In early 2004 a new find of caracolite was made here, with crystals up to 5 mm, considerably better than those from the type locality.
Many of the minerals listed here have been studied and identified by Dr. Jochen Schluter, curator of the Hamburg Mineral Museum, Germany.
The Lolón Main deposit had several levels (in 2002):
(i) Walquiria Levels;
(ii) Buenaventura Level;
(iii) Buenaventura Level 1;
(iv) Catalina Level (whcih extends into the Lolon East.
