Ancient iron and copper mining area, some parts of which were worked from prehistoric times until the early 20th century. The main ores were pyrite and chalcopyrite, occurring as impregnations of synsedimentary-syngenetic origin within the contact zone of diabases and phyllites.

Historic Cu-Fe mining district and several prehistoric slag dumps.
