A tract of 41 acres and a uranium prospect located in the SE¼ sec. 33, T.16N., R.23E., outside the national monument boundaries and about 3 miles south of it and about 20 miles SE of Holbrook. Owned by the New Mexico and Arizona Land Co. (1951), and leased to Frank A. Do Bell of Holbrook.
This tract is in the Moenkopi Formation of early and middle (?) Triassic age. A yellow uranium-bearing mineral, probably carnotite, coats fracture surfaces in the dull brown, petrified logs scattered over much of the tract.
