Waaikraal gold deposit, Rustenburg District, Western Bushveld Complex, Northwest Province, South Africa

Bushveld sill in quartzite. Also cobalt arsenide.

Located 25 kilometers NW of Brits.

Sill-like body of alternating layers and lenses of pyroxenite and magnetite-rich rocks.
Hosted in sediments belonging to the Rayton formation of the Transvaal sequence (between the magnetite gabbros of the upper zone of the Bushveld complex and the Lebowa granites suite).

Two assemblages of ore minerals :
- Early pyrrhotite, pentlandite, pyrite, chalcopyrite and sphalerite
- Later safflorite, arsenopyrite, cobaltite, lollingite, joseite, bismuthinite, bismuth, chalcopyrite, maldonite, gold, CuAu3 phase (ydrothermal origin).
