(Gebiet Schönfeld - Altenberg - Hinteralm, Ochsenriegel, Ramingstein, Lungau, Salzburg, Österreich)

Ancient iron mining area on the slopes of Ochsenriegel mountain, about 10 km SSW of Ramingstein. The main ore was altered pyrite, locally enriched in carbonian age limestones, conglomerates and greenstones. The deposit is genetically related to the deposits around Innerkrems in northern Carinthia and near Turrach in Styria, which are both situated within a distance of less than 10 km.
