Lavatrafo, Andriamena Commune, Tsaratanàna District, Betsiboka Region, Mahajanga (Majunga) Province, Madagascar

Associated with PGMs in drill core. A ultramafic intrusive complex with zones with disseminated chromite and sulphides with high concentrations of platinumgroup elements (PGE). Samples from a drill core named UM2 was mineralogical investigated by McDonald et al (1999). The concentration of PGE was found in 3 main zones, on of them an upper dunite zone wich contained Pd-rich PGM.
