Berere Pegmatite Field, Tsaratanàna District, Betsiboka Region, Mahajanga (Majunga) Province, Madagascar

The pegmatites which is situated west of the small town Tsaratanana are in general embedded in migmatites and pyroxene-amphibolites. Exploitation started here in the early 1950s. From 1951-1954 beryl was exploited. From 1959 columbite-tantalite was mined here. In july 1960 55 tonn of Columbite was extracted from this area (Besaire 1966)
