Steinbruch Pflasterkaute, Eisenach, Thüringer Wald, Thüringen, Deutschland
The Pflasterkaute is located near the road from Marksuhl to Eisenach. It was first mentioned as a zeolite location in 1789 by Voigt and is one of the first known zeolite occurrences in Germany. Credner (1860) has given some more mineralogical information during a short period of quarry operation. The quarry was closed in 1858 at a depth of about 30 m. Later it was used as a waste dump, but can still visited.
