Granite pegmatite. Eastern Mount Apatite District. Oxford pegmatite field.
First green tourmaline found in 1868 (cut to 2 carat gemstone). In situ tourmalines first found in 1883 from excavation 20x8 feet and 8 feet deep. Produced about 1500 crystals ranging in size from 1cm to 10.5cm.
