19th century Chromite mine, 1/2 mi. N.E. of Line Pit. One of several workings near the Line Pit/Low's Mine sites, distinguished by the obsevation of Magnesiochromite. Reportedly closed in 1868 due to an explosion on the 400-foot level. The mine was reported to have reached the 500-foot level, and had produced tousands of tons of ore at greater than 50% chromium oxide, putting it's production level nearer that of Wood's Chrome Mine, however after the explosion/incident and closure, all records were lost. No attemps to reopen the mine have been made since it's closure.
