Blue coloured celestine was found at the site of Barry Docks when it was constructed in the 1880s. Specimens from these finds are held in the collection of the Mational Museum of Wales in Cardiff.
Although the location is no longer accessible, celestine also occurs at the nearby costal locations of Jackson's Bay and Penarth.
