Old Cu mine exploited for Cu- and Ag-rich mineralization from late 15th century until the beginning of 20th century.
The Piazza deposit is hosted along a fracture network developed in pegmatoidal gabbro and, to a lesser extent, along the contacts with some dolerite dikes crosscutting the gabbro, within the ophiolite complex of the Bracco Unit (Internal Ligurides).
