Mineralization is a tabular ore body hosted in Dripping Springs Quartzite and Bolsa Quartzite. The main quartz vein is reportedly sub-horizontal with a 20-30 degree NE dip. Ore control was quartz veins and shears (the quartzite is extensively sheared). This deposit may include parts of the Careless, Cross Town, Apache Girl, Dolphin, Apache Peak Consolidated Mining Co., Jim Douglas, Fortuna, and Aravaipa Metals claims and properties.

Mineralization is probably associated with a Lower Cretaceous-Tertiary intrusive period. These intrusive porphyries are exposed 1 mile SW of the mine.

Area structures include a series of short NW-trending faults bedding generally N to NNW trend and dipping E15°-30°. The Dripping Springs Quartzite is in erosional unconformity with the overlying Bolsa Quartzite. The mine is located in complexly faulted Cambrian and Precambrian rocks, less than ½ mile south of the WNW-trending Mogul Fault. North of the Mogul Fault is Precambrian quartz monzonite.

Workings include 3 tunnels. Past production of auriferous silica flux.
