Sarekuobo (Sarekoubo; Sarekoubu; Sarkobu) Au deposit, Kelang basin, Aletai (Altay) Co., Aletai (Altay) Prefecture, Yili Hasake (Ili Kazakh) Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang (Xinjiang-Uygur) Autonomous Region, China

Volcanic exhalation-sedimentary superimposition gold deposit, hosted in metamorphosed acidic volcanic rocks, volcaniclastic rocks and calcareous sandstone of the Devonian Kangbutiebao Formation along the southern margin of the Altai Mountains. The deposit is controlled by NW-trending faults. Wallrock alteration includes pyritization, silicification, carbonatization, skarnization and chloritization. Two stages of gold deposition are discernible: (1) a pyrite-quartz stage; and (2) a polymetallic sulphide stage.
