Crosson Cave prospect, Illinois - Kentucky Fluorspar District, Crittenden Co., Kentucky, USA
Located on private property 0.25 mi. S of Zion Road, 0.8 mile E of KY 723. The cave was mined in the early 20th century. It consists of two pits to reach the stream level. Calcite in large cleavage masses are still found at the stream level (Chris Anderson per. comm., 1999). Other minerals include barite in crystals up to 0.5 inch and fluorite in a vein which was removed from the cave. See Goldstein 1997 and Ulrich & Smith 1905).Mineral List
