Deen Mine (Pay Day Mine; Junction Mine), Ripsey Hill area, Ripsey District, Tortilla Mts, Pinal Co., Arizona, USA

A former underground Cu-Ag mine located in the SW¼ sec. 33, T4S, R13E (Grayback 7.5 minute topo map), about 5½ miles NW of Ripsey Hill, on private land. USBM files show Deen and Junction to be synonyms. This entry and ABGMT-USBM production is for the group of claims in the SW¼ sec. 33. The Deen claims extend into the NW¼SE¼, sec. 33. Produced 1948-1961. Operated by Leo Wall and Dudley Walker (1948-1950); Deen and Daniels and Deen (1956-1961); and by Mr. Tommy Deen (1961-____).

Mineralization is in fissure zones associated with rhyodacite dikes. An associated rock unit is the Ruin (Oracle) Granite. Area structures include E-W fissures and rhyodacite porphyry dike in the mine area. Dikes and fault fissures trend both E-W and NW in the district.

Production reported as Pay Day (with operators Deen, Deen and Daniels) has been included for this mine on ABGMT-USBM production file.
