Hot Springs Barite District, Madison Co., North Carolina, USA
Mineralization is veins and lenses of baryte in breccia zones along two major faults in Snowbird formation of Precambrian (?) age and Max Patch granite of Precabrian age.A total of 5 mines yielded most of the baryte, but other prospects may prove valuable.
