Peridotite outcrop, La Freychinède, Col d'Agnès, Aulus-les-Bains, Saint-Girons, Ariège, Midi-Pyrénées, France

HT peridotites : Spinel lherzolite and harzburgite, layered with parallel bands of pyroxenite (upper mantle cumulate or crystal segregation due to flow crystallization).
These serpentinites are emplaced along the North Pyrenean fault.
They show a deformation foliation parallel to pyroxenite layering.
Location in the uppermost mantle/dismembered lithosphere above an asthenosphere diapir, during the Albian.
