A former surface and underground Cu-Ag-Au mine located on 3 unpatented claims (Old Jonah, No. 1, & No. 2) in the SW¼ sec. 24, T8S, R5E (Silver Reef Mountains 7.5 minute topo map), about 1.7 miles SW of White Horse Pass, about 3 miles S of Chuichu, on Indian Reservation land. Located in a saddle between two peaks as indicated by adit on MF-934; sec. 24 is twice the width of a normal section. Discovered 1895. First produced 1935 and closed 1939.
Mineralization is an E-W trending fracture zone and a contact NW fault directly east of the mine, with the upthrust side to the NE. Contact between granite and andesite. The associated rock unit is the Ruin (Oracle) Granite (of Peterson), which is on the north side of the contact, north of the mine. E-W fractures with minor NW-striking faults, EW fault ¼ mile south of the mine. Includes secondary copper minerals.
Workings include tunnels 320 feet long, 20 foot crosscuts, and 40 foot stopes.
