Fe mines worked probably in Middle Age. Mineralization is represented by Fe-oxides lenses located near the contact between schists (Scisti di Fornovolasco Fm.) and dolomitic marble (Grezzoni Fm.). In Monticello - Le Pose area there are six tunnels; four of them are very narrow. One of the other two is flooded.
