Emerald occurs in a biotite-phlogopite schist zone in amphibolites. It has been opened up in a small bulldozer cut to about 5m deep, about 500m N of the main road. The emeralds are a pale to deep green and occur in crystals to about 2.5cm long, mostly highly fractured, with some small gemmy areas.
