Bergen Hill, Bergen Co. & Hudson Co., New Jersey, USA

The "Bergen Hill" is the spine of the Hudson Palisades, comprised of the eastern cliffs of the Palisades diabase outcrop. It extends through Bergen County and southward into Hudson County, New Jersey, parallel to the Hudson River. There are numerous railroad tunnels and highway cuts, plus traprock quarries through this formation. The locality of Bergen Hill, unless otherwise specified is consolidated in this file.
