The locality Ialamitana consist of 2 different workings, one which has produced green, opaque beryls and one closeby that has produced good up to 3 cm large well-shaped trapezohedrons of red garnets (almandine-spessartine series) and good crystal of "strüverite". It is located south of Antsirabe, near Manandona Valley and close to the Vorondolo Massif.

The locality is most probably the one refered to as "a new almandine garnet locality" situated "6 km southeast of the Manandona and 30 km south of Antsirabe" by Moore (1997,1998). Many good pieces was found here in 1996.
