Haute Sparaouine river, Apatou Commune, Arrondissement of Saint-Laurent-du-Maroni, French Guiana

Placer mineralization in the sediments of Haute Sparaouine and it's confluents.
The placer (EW-elongated, 4-5 km2), located 75 km south of Saint Laurent, is located on the north border of Carribeans batholith and of Paramaka series contact aureole (amphibolites, quartzites and schists).
The minerals present in the placer comes from pegmatite veins in the granite and nearby metamorphic rocks.
