A pumice deposit/pit operation located in the SE¼ sec. 19, T6N, R9E, MDM, E of Dillard, near the Amador County line, across the line from Loch Lane (lake) and about 4.65 km WSW of Clarksona (Amador County). Operated by Charles Bacon. Operations began in 1947. MRDS database accuracy for this location is not stated . Sporadic production of pumicite was begun in 1947. The material is marketed principally in Berkeley, California.
Mineralization is a pumicite bed. The bed has a slight westerly dip and is overlain by andesitic detritus of the Mehrten Formation. Overburden may be absent in places but may attaina thickness of 90 feet in others. Local rocks include Miocene nonmarine rocks.
Workings include surface and underground openings comprised of an open pit and a short adit.
