A placer Au occurrence/mine located in sec. 22, T18N, R4E, MDM, 4.7 km (2.9 miles) SSE of Palermo, along Wyandotte Creek. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 5,000 meters.
NOTE: This locality is evidenced on the topo map as a very large area of dredge tailings and was obviously a viable Au placer mine.
Mineralization is placer Au deposit as evidenced by Au tailings. Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains).
