A former lode Au mine located in the NE¼ sec. 1, T3N, R13E, MDM, 0.8 km (0.5 mile) NNE of Soapstone Hill (1 mile W of Murphys; N of the Mayflower Mine on Murphys Ridge), on the divide between San Domingo Creek and Angels Creek. The property is comprised of 5 patented claims. Operated during the periods of the 1880's & 1890's. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.
Mineralization is hosted in mica schist. The ore body strikes E and dips 70N at a thickness of 1.22 meters. There are 2 veins, the Mayflower at 4 feet thick, and the Banner which is parallel. Several smaller veins lying back in the footwall may join the main veins at depth. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).
Workings include underground openings with an overall depth of 106.68 meters and comprised of a 150 foot and a 350 foot shafts with 1,200 feet of connecting crosscut adit, crosscuts, plus a 400 foot adit, which runs across the claim. Both shafts are on the Mayflower vein.
