A Mn deposit/prospect located in sec. 34, T2N, R11E, MDM (7.5 miles SE of Milton; 0.2 mile from end of a poor road near the bottom of a canyon in gently rolling hills). Discovered in 1942. Owned by George Callahan and H.H. Donner, California (1974). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters. USGS map GP-561 shows a Mn mine in the SW¼SE¼ of the section.

Mineralization is a Mn deposit hosted in the Bear Mountain Ophiolite. The ore body strikes N and dips vertically at a width of 0.61 meter and a length of 10.67 meters. The lens of Mn ore is mainly hard, blue-black psilomelane in grey, flinty chert. The ore and chert are enclosed in meta-tuffs (?) and metavolcanics (probably of the Amador group). Some small patches of pink rhodonite occur as well. Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains).

Workings include unspecified surface openings.

Analytical data results: Ore averages 40% Mn.
