A former lode Au mine located in sec. 21, T4N, R13E, MDM, about 5.35 km S of Mountain Ranch and about 6.35 km NE of Calaveritas, on the divide between Old Gulch and Calaveritas Creek. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in slate and mica schist. The ore body strikes NW and dips NE at a thickness of 3.05 meters. There are 2 veins. The ore is base with abundant sulfides. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).
Workings include surface and underground openings with an overall depth of 6.1 meters and an overall length of 6.1 meters, and comprised of a 60 foot deep shaft.
