A former placer hydraulic Au occurrence/mine located in the SE¼ sec. 7, T5N, R12E, MDM, 0.8 km (0.5 mile) ESE of Mokelumne Hill (town). Owned by J.C. Harle. Operated from prior to 1874, in 1876 and in 1927. Idle during the period 1896 to 1916. Prospected in 1917. MRDS database accuracy for this location is not stated.
Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Workings include surface hydraulic operations. Hydraulicked prior to 1874.
$6,000 (period values) recovered in 1876. About 400 cubic yards of gravel were washed during the period October-November 1927.
