A placer Au occurrence located in sec. 18, T6N, R13E, MDM, about 3.7 km E of Wilseyville, along the Blue Mountain Road, N of the Licking Fork Mokelumne River (4½ road miles SE of West Point). The property was comprised of 20 acres. Worked intermittently between April, 1931 and September, 1935. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is a placer Au deposit located on the Fort Mountain paleochannel. The gravel is loose, contains some boulders, and averageas 20 feet in depth. The bedrock is a decomposed slate. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges) and/or Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).
Workings include underground openings including a partly inclined tunnel which runs NW-ward a distance of 525 feet with about 400 feet of crosscuts and drifts.
The gravel was said to average $1.30 of Au (period values) per ton.
