A former lode Au mine located in secs. 18 & 19, T3N, R11E, MDM, 0.9 km (0.6 mile) W of Siberia summit (coordinates of record), along Slate Creek (4 miles E of Jenny Lind). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in slate and gneiss. The ore body strikes NW and dips NE at a thickness of 1.22 meters. There are 2 veins with slate hanging wall(s) and gneiss footwall(s). Local rocks include Jurassic marine rocks, unit 1 (Western Sierra Nevada and Western Klamath Mountains) and/or Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include underground openings comprised of a shallow shaft.
