Mount Timolus Mine, Quiggs Mountain, Mountain Ranch District, East Belt, Calaveras Co., California, USA

A former lode Au mine located in the NW¼ sec. 36, T5N, R12E, MDM, 2.0 km (1.2 miles) NNE of Quiggs Mountain (coordinates of record), to the W of Salamander Creek (on the ridge SW of Salamander Gulch; 5 miles NE of San Andreas). Operated in the 1870's, 1887 & 1914. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.

Mineralization is a vein deposit. The ore body strikes NE and dips SE at a thickness of 0.61 meter. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).

Workings include underground openings comprised of a 300 foot deep shaft.
