A former placer Au occurrence/drift mine located in the SW¼SE¼ sec. 23, T3N, R14E, MDM, about 3.65 km WNW of Vallecito, W of Sixmile Creek (2 miles NE of Angels Camp). Property comprised 20 acres. Operated prior to 1900. Rehabilitated in 1916. Drifting operations again in 1922. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.
A placer Au deposit located on the Central Hill paleochannel. Local rocks include pre-Cenozoic metasedimentary and metavolcanic rocks undivided (limestone of probable Paleozoic or Mesozoic age).
