A placer Au occurrence/drift mine located in secs. 16, 17, 20 & 21, T3N, R13E, MDM, 1.4 km (0.9 mile) SE of Dogtown, along French Gulch. The combined properties covered about 2½ miles along the supposed course of the paleochannel. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.

Mineralization is a placer Au deposit located along a supposed paleochannel (no name provided). Gravel was struck in the Jackrabbit near the old Monarch line and had also run about 70 feet downstream in the Golden Treasure, but not in pay dirt. The gravel is cemented. The bedrock is slate and greenstone. Local rocks include undivided pre-Cenozoic metavolcanic rocks, unit 2 (undivided).

Workings include underground openings. Old workings of the Jackrabbit Mine included a 191 foot shaft and drifts totaling 1,700 feet or more. The work was accomplished about 1900.

No recent production reported up to November, 1923.

Gravel was reported to have averaged better than $4 (period values) per cubic yard.
