A former lode Au mine located in sec. 8, T4N, R11E MDM, 2.1 km (1.3 miles) WNW of Toyon, along Youngs Creek (2 miles NE of Valley Springs). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit. Local rocks include ultramafic rocks, chiefly Mesozoic, unit 2 (Western Sierra Nevada and Klamath Mountains).
