A former lode Cu-Au occurrence/mine located in sec. 18, T9N, R11E, MDM, about 4.3 km ESE of Logtown (site), E of Martinez Creek and N of river mile 60, North Fork Cosumnes River (5 miles S of Diamond Springs), on private land. Operated by George Fausel. Operated prior to 1900. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters. South extension of the Noonday Mine. Worked for Cu and listed in resources as a producer of Cu.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in metasedimentary rock. The ore body is 18.29 meters thick. The mineralized zone if 40 to 60 feet wide. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).
Workings include underground openings comprised of a 90 foot and a 100 foot crosscut adits, a 100 foot drift and a 105 foot shaft.
