A former lode Au occurrence/mine locatd in the W½ sec. 17 & in the NE¼ sec. 18, T10N, R11E, MDM, 0.9 km (0.6 mile) S of Placerville, W of Cedar Ravine and E of the Coon Hollow School, on private land. The property comprises 19 acres. Operated by the Placerville Gold Mining Co., C/O L.F.S. Holland. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit. Local rocks include Jurassic marine rocks, unit 1 (Western Sierra Nevada and Western Klamath Mountains) and/or Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains).
