A former lode Au occurrence/mine located in the NE¼NW¼ sec. 17, T9N, R10E, MDM, 1.3 km (0.8 mile) SSE of Frenchtown, E of French Creek (4½ miles SE of El Dorado and 1½ miles NE of Mount Aigare), on private land. Operated by Michael B. Ryan. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Logan (1926) shows an area of 40 acres held by Ryan. Logan (1938), p. 265, lists the "Mother Lode" held by Ryan with an area of 20 acres. Pl II of this latter reference shows the Mother Lode, the Meder Lode, and the Sunrise Lode of 1.878 acres lying between. Probably all 3 claims were held by Ryan.
Mineralization is a vein deposit. Local rocks include pre-Cenozoic metasedimentary and metavolcanic rocks undivided.
